I am an artist / illustrator in Ontario, Canada with a healthy obsession for creating whimsical illustrations! I have always been intrigued with how illustrations add a very human element to a project and can portray a subject in a way that no other medium ever could. Illustration offers the ability to exaggerate gesture and emotion, and enhance moods with textures, patterns, light and colours. Illustrations can give the viewer a sense of familiarity, adventure, nostalgia and wonder.

I am a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators, and the Oshawa Art Association. My adventures in art and illustration started many years ago, with a simple sketchbook and pencil. Since then, I’ve studied art and design at a number of colleges and workshops, and the learning never stops as I’m always thrilled to try a new medium or technique.

Depending on the project at hand, I can illustrate digitally or traditionally with watercolour, gouache and pencils (or a combination of both). Although these are two very different mediums, the style and feel of the illustrations is quite harmonious.

My illustrations are for use in publishing, art licensing, packaging design, murals and origional art sales. Although children’s illustrations and characters will always be my first love, I do find food illustration quite exciting, and am always so pleased when a good surface pattern design comes together. Painting murals and participating in public art projects are also top of my list.

Apart from the pleasure that comes with illustrating, it always makes my day to hear someone tell me that my art made them smile. Creating something that spreads a little happiness - hands down, that is the best part about illustration!
